So a problem occurred to me today that I didn’t think I would have. I actually have so much to say I want to say it all at once. Of course that’s not feasible, so then the dilemma is what to write about and when. The only thing I know for sure is that I’ll limit food talk to Fridays. I really like the idea of Foodie Friday 🙂 Anyway, I really didn’t want to wait till next week for this post. Let’s call the crawfish boil the main course and here’s dessert. The biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever had (and delicious too!!!!!) was at Lulu’s in San Antonio (we were there in 2012 for a few months for my husband’s C-5 training). Now, my husband and I can both eat, I mean we can REALLY eat and we ENJOY eating, but we couldn’t finish this! The picture does NOT do justice to its size, denseness (or would density be the better word here?), richness, and overwhelming deliciousness. The first time we went to Lulu’s we knew they were famous for the cinnamon rolls (courtesy of the Travel Channel), but we naively thought a cinnamon roll AND regular breakfast was going to be a great idea. I don’t remember what else we ordered (not that that speaks to the quality of the regular food, it was all delicious! One of us probably got a breakfast burrito, and the second time we went my dad happened to be visiting and I know he got the huevos rancheros and raved about them), but it was 3 years ago and I just don’t remember. Anyway, if you are ever in San Antonio, even for a day, you really should try to make it to Lulu’s for a cinnamon roll. Oh it’s not cream cheese icing, so if you don’t like the tangy icinged rolls you’ll be good here (um, I might have just made up a word, but it gets the point across right? haha). They have a parking lot so that’s one less thing to worry about in a new city. Having lived in NY, New Orleans, St. Louis, and spending a lot of time in San Francisco I know the availability of parking, or lack thereof, can somewhat determine where you go and when.
